Mursi Ethnic in Ethophia

Yes!
My post today is more likely on information sharing..
Biasala, my fav 'portable' magazine, Infinity has been ma best source of knowledge since 2010..
This super side-sticky-sheets publish only once a month, n now i'm reading d 23rd edition.. (actually i missed the 1st till 20th sumthing) i started read from d 20th so-so edition.. as often as i read, the topics get fascinating..banyak memaparkan info2 more to facts and research, sciences, spaces, diseases, national geographic (a small community, 'tribe')..

In short, dis mag is compact, filled with valuable info dat u wouldn't absolutely regret, n exclusive (fast-read mechanism), not so over-length, just important point included as long as d messages could be delivered successfully..

One of the topic i want to share is, about Mursi ethnic in Ethophia..they all rather choose to suffer as long as they remain 'beauty'..beauty in term of their perspective is, lip-piercing tradition..

owh maybe u've had heard dis tribe before..well me too, but the thing is..ouchhh! sakit kot..
d article is as below, just re-type again..oh yes, i would certainly type it no matter how long the article is..i just like dis info.. :)

The willingness of lip-piercing..
This practice will usually be performed by the mother who has an over 15-year-old daughter. The ceremony is performed by forming lower lip into round shape, bout 1-2 cm in diameter. A piece of wood will be inserted into a pierced lip. This is the first stage, to heal the wound. After 3 weeks, 4 cm in diameter round plate is inserted to form a lip a round-look. Horror, but for them, this is the way revealing beauty. If they refuse to perform this ceremony, there’ll be no man approach.

Actually, this ceremony is not intended only for the sake of pretty, they believe that a woman with such lip would have a big reward during her wedding day. For them, the bigger the lip can be formed, the special gifts they would get. Commonly, the gifts from her future husband would be sheep, horse, cattle and so forth.

However, this belief is denied by most antropologists. These groups argue that this tradition is not directly related to the reward amount. Instead, they put forward the theory that the practice is to show that Mursi girls are matured enough and ready to get married.

This Murzu or Mursi ethnic are nomadic people who lived in the Debub Omo Zone near to the border of Sudan surrounded by the Omo river. A total of 7500 residents there are still strongly hold animism belief. One of them may be seen until now with their tradition, plate-piercing lip..

Owh maybe this is one of d heroes to be married.. ; P ahaks

Yes! done..i love doing dis!

Hair Rebonding?

oWh..

its been a Loooonggg timmeee since my post grad registration..
cian blog aku..abandon site..sori2 mummy bz la lately..byk mende kne pikiak..
research ongoing, chasing the duedate of scholar applications, sampling and fieldworks, tryin' to keep up the reputation, and all that stuffs!

oWh..

never had a best time to think of myself..hurm..but lately, i've thought bout doing my hair..its rebonding..ouch!
but, im in dlemma i should? or shouldn't?
my hair is kind of....ok.. not curly, not really straight at all..
i just wanna try, transform ma image..experimenting my hair..

tapi, bile pikiak balik, im afraid if my hair got broken, coz, memang sah2 la chemical subtances die pakai tu membahayakan rambut, even ur skin n scalp would 90% get that risk.

oWh..

maybe i shouldn't do it, *for this time being*..coz i have read the fact bout rebonding just now..
here's the article..just copy paste..express way punyer method..no worries, the source of this article is cited..

It gives you silky, super straight hair, the way the girls in hair commercials look, and the way Jennifer Lopez and Faye Wong look, but it can also leave you bald. In one of the case study, a 14-year-old girl had big clumps of hair falling off in the shower a year after the process. Her hair started breaking 2 months after being rebounded. Then another case when a woman is suing her hairdresser for bald patches on her head after a similar treatment. Her scalp started stinging during the process itself and hair fell off in clumps shortly after.

Hair rebonding is a process where the chemical bonds in your hair are broken, rearranged and bonded back again permanently using very strong chemicals. It is one of the most damaging things you can do to your hair. During rebonding, perming lotion is added to soften the hair and break down its bonds. After this is washed off, hair is placed between 2 metal plates of an electric styling device, which uses heat to pull the hair rod-straight. A neutralizer is then applied to reset the bonds and stabilize the hair.

Hair is irreversibly altered after the perming process. Chemically-treated hair shafts are weaker and fracture more easily. This can lead to hair loss. Hair become fragile and has to be handled with extreme care after treatment. A natural reflex, like tucking your hair behind your ears or tying your hair in the first month after treatment, can be disaster. The process can also cause damage and burns to the skin and scalp. For example hair can be damaged if the various chemicals are left on the hair for too long, or if ironing is done with an iron at higher than 180Âșc.

Conventional methods of straightening hair use hair-straightening lotions, which result in dry, brittle, and split-ends prone hair. Rebonding gives you softer hair but higher risks because it uses more toxic chemicals. Maintaining the rebonded look means continual touch-ups, at least, every 6 months. This puts you at further risk of hair loss, eventually, and prematurely, leaving your full head of hair nothing but a memory.
